4th-7th graders will meet at the church this coming Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 3-5 p.m. YOUTH, 8th-12th will meet at the church this coming Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 6:30-8 p.m.
We had misunderstood that they were meeting at the YMCA again.
Announcements for Friday, SEPTEMBER 3, 2010
A New Sermon Series began last Sunday and continues through the month of September. The series is based on the book by Alan Nelson titled, Coached By Jesus: 31 Life-Changing Questions Asked By The Master.
The New Church Directory will be handed out to those whose picture appears in the directory on Sunday. Come to the table in the Foyer to get one per family.
Church Offices will be closed on Monday.
Cancer Support Group meets Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Steve’s Deli, 117 W. Washington.
Nurture & Education Committee meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Finance Committee meets Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Small Groups for 4th & 5th graders and for 6th & 7th graders meets from 3-5 p.m. at the Adair County YMCA on Wednesday.
Youth Group for 8th-12th Graders meets at the Adair County YMCA on Wednesday. Supper will be held from 6:30-7 p.m. Youth small groups will meet from 7-8 p.m.
Adult Vocal Choir Practice meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. For those who cannot rehearse on Wednesdays, the choirs also practices on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. The choirs will start performing again at their respective worship services on September 12. If you would like to sing in the Celebration Choir at the 8:15 service or the Chancel Choir at the 10:45 service, contact Peggy Clement (clementpeggy68@gmail.com).
Adult Handbell Choir Practice begins on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Metho-News Mailing Team meets Thursday at 8 a.m.
Miriam Circlemeets on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Jeanne Coy.
Blueberries Bible Study meets on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Kid’s Night Out will now be on the second Friday of the month. The first one is Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. for children 6 weeks through 5th grade. The evening meal will be provided. For more information, contact Lynae McFarland (lynaeandbarry@yahoo.com).
Youth Rally at Camp Jo Ota will be on September 11 & 12 for 6th-12th graders.
Meals for College-Age Students will be held on September 12 after the 10:45 service in the Fellowship Hall. All students are welcome to come for the food, fun, and fellowship. We need donations of carrot sticks and dip, potato chips and dip, and desserts for 25-30 people. Call the church office by Wed. if you can help.
Teachers for Adult and Children are needed. Two teachers are needed for an adult and college-age Sunday School class. Contact Pastor Richard at richnorthcutt@yahoo.com for more information. Teachers are needed to work with children in Sunday School and at Club 316 on Wednesdays. Contact Lynae McFarland (lynaeandbarry@yahoo.com) if interested.
Sound System Coordinator Needed to schedule, train, and supervise those who operate the sound system. The company installing the new sound system will provide the initial training for anyone who wants to take it.
Director of Adult Ministries and Discipleship applications are being taken. This salaried position (30 hrs/week for a starting salary of $21,000) would develop and lead small group programs for the adult membership of FUMC. UMW Sunday will be held on September 19 with Erin Northcutt as the guest speaker. Members of Circles and Bible Studies will be responsible for both of the worship services. As in the past, there will be a Candle Burning for Missions.
