                                                                   Back to School Project

Thank you to everyone who helped make Saturday, July 17’s educational supply drive a success.  We collected over 1200 packages of supplies, including such things as 171 boxes of crayons, 39 packages of markers, and 202 folders.  A special thank you to everyone who worked a shift at Walmart, including Elaine Boda, Brad Chambers, Chuck Heckert, Melissa Kinney, Novelle Meredith, Diane and Jerry Richmond, Christy Treasure, Laurie Waddle, Holly and Dale Whitacre, Becky Yardley, Rebecca Zimmer, and Teri Heckert.  The drive provided wonderful publicity for our church and for the Back-to-School Supply Fair.

Volunteers are still needed for the Fair itself (11 AM – 1 PM on Tuesday, August 3 at the Kirksville Primary School). We’ll also need a few strong workers to help with loading and unloading the truck, both before and after the fair.  Please consider helping us with assembling kits on Monday, August 2 at our church, beginning at 5:30 PM.  To volunteer to help in any of these ways, please contact either Rebecca Zimmer (zimmermsw@yahoo.com or 627-2598) or Teri Heckert (theckert@truman.edu or 342-1760).

Dear Lynae and First UMC Youth,

Thank you for the totally AWESOME work you did clearing our flower bed of weeds and laying down the mulch. We know how hard you worked and it was way beyond what we were able to do. Your dedication to this less than enjoyable task showed your spirit of service which we know you will carry forth into your mission trip. Again, a HUGE thank you.
